Ein Beitrag zur Diskussion um die Sprachqualität bei ETH Life English Quality on ETH Life |
By Lennart Meier In my opinion, the articles in ETH Life could be written more carefully in general, i.e. also when they are in German. Just today I read "Fachmännin" and am now just waiting for "Mitgliederin". And then there's the issue of hyphenation, where my hypothesis is: As hyphenation in English seems such a complicated issue (which it is not), even many native speakers simply omit all hyphens. Some native speakers of German, exposed to "hyphen-free English", tend to produce "hyphen-free German" as a result. | |
